Elderly couple victimized in northeast Modesto home-invasion robbery
A 94-year-old man was injured after he and his wife were confronted by robbers in their northeast Modesto home Friday night.
Modesto police responded to a home-invasion robbery at 10:30 p.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Gary Lane near Memorial Medical Center. An elderly couple at the house told police two intruders had entered their house, Lt. Brandon Gillespie said.
The husband, 94, and his wife, 85, were home when the robbers entered. They described one as a woman wearing a mask but could not provide a description of the other, Gillespie said.
After the intruders left, the wife found her husband outside with significant injuries to his face and head.
Gillespie said the man was taken to a hospital and put into a coma to treat broken bones in his face.
