Stanislaus sheriff’s detectives seek public’s help to find missing 16-year-old

Stanislaus County sheriff’s detectives are asking the public’s help in finding 16-year-old Monica Ascensio.

She left her home Aug. 27 and investigators believe she may be with 26-year-old Cristian Ceja, according to an email alert from StanAware, the county Office of Emergency Services communication system.

The alert states Ceja has a warrant for his arrest and the two may be traveling in a gray Honda Element with California license plate number 6MKL047.

Monica has black, shoulder-length hair, brown eyes, is 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 99 pounds. Ceja has brown hair and eyes, is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds.

More information was not immediately available.
