Update: Turlock High urges anyone with information on student’s shooting to contact police
Turlock police are investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old boy Friday night. The wound was not life-threatening. The teen was treated at a hospital and then released.
The victim is a student at Turlock High School, which issued a robocall to families to inform them of the shooting. The message said in part, “We would like to encourage parents to speak to their students about this unfortunate incident and remind them of our ‘See Something, Say Something’ safety protocol. Anyone with information should contact Turlock Police Department at (209) 668-1200.”
Officers responded about 8 p.m. to a report of a gunshot at a gas station near Golden State Boulevard and Olive Avenue. Police said the 16-year-old and others did not cooperate with officers.
Police said the shooting was not connected to the city’s Christmas Parade on Friday night. The parade had passed that area of the city before the shooting.
