Update: One detained, second victim possible in Modesto shooting
One person has been detained after a shooting left one man dead, Modesto police said. A second victim may have been injured.
The incident occurred at McHenry and Orangeburg avenues; a witness reported the shooting at 11:55 a.m., a department spokeswoman said.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene, in the parking lot north of the Pep Boys automotive shop.
One person was detained nearby, police said. A second shooting victim showed up at a Doctors Medical Center; MPD spokeswoman Sharon Bear said authorities had not confirmed it was related to the incident but were investigating.
