Victim of fatal shooting identified as Modesto resident. Investigators seeking suspect
The man fatally shot in south Modesto on Saturday night has been identified at Modesto resident Scott Anthony Bates, 39, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office.
About 9:50 p.m. Saturday, deputies, Modesto police, firefighters and American Medical Response were dispatched to the 100 block of Imperial Avenue on reports of a shooting.
Bates was found with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Paramedics began treatment but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects have been arrested, and as of Tuesday morning, investigators have not released any information on a suspect or possible motive.
