Woman found dead in Modesto hotel room. Homicide detectives investigating
Modesto police are investigating a suspicious death at the Best Western Palm Court Inn in northwest Modesto.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the second floor of the hotel at 2001 W. Orangeburg Ave. for a medical call with CPR in progress around 11 a.m.
A woman was found in the room and ultimately declared dead, said Modesto police Sgt. Kalani Souza. Firefighters then requested law enforcement for a “possible crime scene.”
Souza said the death appears to be suspicious in nature but he would not say if there were signs of trauma or what about the death made it suspicious.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to take over the investigation.
