Thieves have taken golf carts from two Patterson Joint Unified locations in the past week, the school district reports.

A cart was first reported missing on Sunday morning, July 17, from the Patterson High School Supply Chain and Logistics Warehouse storage shed. The shed handle appeared to be pried off. “This cart just arrived in May as a hands-on learning tool for our Truck Driving Program students to practice backing,” the district said in a Facebook post.

A trailer that had been attached to the cart was recovered, but the cart itself remains missing, district spokesman Johnny Padilla said Wednesday.

A separate Facebook post by Patterson Professional Truck Driving School said the cart is a 2015 E-Z GO TXT 48v electric model with the Next Gen logo on front.

There was a bullhorn on the top and the battery charger also was stolen with the vehicle, according to Padilla.

“We also recently became aware that another cart was stolen from our (Creekside) Middle School last week,” Padilla said in an email Wednesday. No additional information on that cart was immediately available.

Anyone with information on the stolen carts is asked to call Patterson Police Services at 209-892-5071 or Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tips also can be submitted via www.stancrimetips.org.
