Teenage girl shot early Saturday morning in Modesto. Police are investigating

A 15-year-old girl is expected to survive a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in west Modesto, police said.

According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred around 1 a.m. in the 900 block of Inez Drive, south of California Avenue. Officers responding to reports of a shooting found the girl suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

As of Sunday morning, no one had been arrested, Lt. Joe Bottoms said, and the victim was in stable condition.

Police are conducting interviews. No other details have been released.
