UPDATE: One man in custody after weapons incident in south Modesto. Roads open again.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said an adult male was in custody after deputies and a SWAT team responded Monday afternoon to a home where a man was possibly armed with a weapon.
The incident near West Hatch Road and Parkdale Drive in southwest Modesto prompted authorities to close nearby roads and evacuate some residents.
An update at about 6:30 p.m. said the roadways were open again. Investigators with the Family Crimes Unit had arrived to take over the investigation.
The Sheriff’s Department released an initial alert about the incident around 4:30 p.m.
The name of the man taken into custody was not released.
