Modesto Police responded to Modesto High School for the second day in a row Friday, this time for a bomb threat.

Around 10 a.m., the school received two back-to-back phone calls from a male stating he would bring a bomb to campus, said Modesto Police Sgt. Dave Mullins.

He said the school was put on lockdown and four or five officers responded to do a sweep of the campus. After searching the school for more than 30 minutes and finding no evidence of a bomb, the lockdown was lifted.

Mullins said officers are continuing to investigate the origin of the phone call.

He said there’s no indication Friday’s incident was connected to one on Thursday in which a student was found to have a loaded gun.
