Modesto woman severely injured in head-on crash near Jamestown

A Modesto woman suffered major injuries in a head-on collision with a suspected drunk driver near Jamestown on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on State Route 49 south of Chicken Ranch Road at about 5:15 p.m.

The CHP reports 27-year-old Rebekah Gall of Modesto was driving an Acura sedan southbound on State Route 49 when the driver of a northbound Toyota pickup veered into her lane.

The vehicles crashed head on and Gall suffered major injuries. She was taken by helicopter to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Theodore Young of Sonora, was not injured. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
