Stockton teen identified as victim of Salida homicide

The victim of a New Year’s Day homicide in Salida has been identified as a Stockton teenager.

Christian Nunez, 19, died of a gunshot wound in the 4200 block of San Martin Court, said Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Sgt. Erich Layton.

Law enforcement was dispatched to the shooting around 9:50 p.m. A resident in the area told The Bee he heard multiple shots and went outside to find the victim dead with two gunshot sounds to his chest.

No additional details about the homicide were available, including a possible motive or suspect information.
