Modesto police looking for witnesses of assault on Ninth Street bridge
The Modesto Police Department is investigating an assault Tuesday morning on the Ninth Street Bridge as a possible attempted homicide.
Officers responded to calls of a person down on the bridge sidewalk around 7:30 a.m., the department said. Upon arrival they found an unconscious man who appeared to have been physically assaulted. He remains hospitalized in critical condition as of Thursday night.
Detectives believe the person or people responsible may have been driving a blue Nissan Versa. The department did not release any other information about the victim or assailants.
