One person injured in home invasion robbery near downtown Modesto

Modesto Bee file

Three masked males committed a home invasion robbery Sunday morning on the 700 block of Sierra Drive just west of Cesar E. Chavez Park, according to Modesto police.

About 6:30 a.m., three subjects — at least one of them armed — entered the home, took property and fled in a vehicle belonging to the residents, Lt. Steve Stanfield said. The vehicle was found abandoned a couple of blocks away.

One robbery victim suffered minor injuries, Stanfield said.

Anyone with information on the robbery is urged to call the Modesto Police Department at 209-572-9500 or Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636.

Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tips also can be submitted via www.stancrimetips.org
