$7 million worth of marijuana seized from Keyes home, Stanislaus sheriff says

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department seized more than 7,000 pounds of processed marijuana from a home just outside of Keyes on Thursday, authorities said.

Detectives with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant at the home in the 5100 block of Washington Road around 7:30 a.m., according to a press release. The home had been part of an ongoing investigation by detectives.

The total estimated street value of the marijuana exceeds $7 million. No arrests have been made.

“Our department is committed to eliminating what has become a lucrative black market for illicit marijuana cultivation,” reads the press release. “The likelihood of violence, environmental contamination, public health hazards and other neighborhood dangers are significant.”
