How three Modesto juveniles allegedly committing armed robbery led to six facing charges
Six juveniles face charges in connection to the armed robbery of a man near the intersection of West Union and McHenry avenues Saturday night, according to Modesto police.
The robbery occurred shortly before midnight, Lt. Steve Stanfield said. The victim reported being robbed by subjects with a gun. The incident apparently occurred in the parking lot of the Regal Modesto cineplex.
A Sheriff’s Department helicopter in the area spotted the suspects’ vehicle, which pulled into an apartment complex on the 300 block of Standiford Avenue. Police officers located three juveniles armed with “airsoft pistols, replica firearms,” Stanfield said.
Three additional juveniles in the apartment complex “either tried to conceal or get the others away from officers,” the lieutenant said.
So a total of six minors face charges, he said, three for the armed robbery and three for obstructing and delaying officers.
The robbery victim was not hurt, Stanfield said.
