Two victims in stabbing at downtown Modesto parking garage, police say
A man was badly hurt in a stabbing early Sunday in downtown Modesto, police report.
The incident occurred about 2:45 a.m. in the parking garage on 11th Street across from the Food Fix restaurant and the Modesto Children’s Museum.
Responding officers found two adult victims, one of them “in pretty serious condition,” Lt. Steve Stanfield said.
The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital, he said, and the other person appears not to have been transported, so likely was treated at the scene. No victim ages, or the gender of the person treated at the scene, were immediately available.
The stabbing arose from an altercation that spilled out from a nearby nightclub, said Stanfield, who as of Sunday morning had no suspect information to share.
There are a lot of downtown surveillance cameras, he said, and detectives will be checking to see what evidence they yield.
Anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has information on the case is urged to contact Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tips also can be submitted via www.stancrimetips.org.
