Ceres man sentenced to more than 7 years in prison for child porn

Modesto Bee

George Pires, 56, of Ceres, was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison for receiving child pornography, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced Monday.

According to court documents, between November 2006 and November 2012, Pires received more than 100,000 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Pires was arrested by FBI agents and Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department detectives in February of 2013.

Detectives had obtained a search warrant and seized photos, videos and several computers.

Forensic analysis reportedly discovered thousands of images. Because of the large quantity, detectives contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Sacramento Division for help in the investigation.
