Authorities identify man whose body was found in burning Hughson home

Authorities on Wednesday released the name of a man whose body was found at the scene of a house fire in Hughson early Monday.

Investigators do now yet know how Delio Jorge Fernandes Silveira, 28, of Hughson died, Stanisalaus County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Bejaran said.

“We are waiting on the completion of the autopsy report,” Bejaran said.

Hughson Fire Department firefighters were called to a house fire in the 3100 block of Berkeley Road, just outside Hughson, shortly after midnight Monday. As firefighters worked to put out the blaze, they located Silveira’s body inside the home.
