A large illegal marijuana operation has been shut down by Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department deputies, according to authorities.

On Friday, Aug. 7, deputies with the Community Resource Unit deputies served multiple marijuana eradication warrants on the 500 block of El Roya in southeast Modesto. They recovered approximately 2,000 marijuana plants, 300 pounds of processed marijuana, three guns and miscellaneous ammunition.

Three people were taken into custody, according to a post on the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Facebook page. They were arrested for alleged illegal cultivation of marijuana, running a drug house and fleeing from deputies.

In addition to the three arrests, 17 other people were cited for cultivation for allegedly assisting in the harvesting, authorities said.
