Trial ordered in Modesto murder case

A judge has ordered a defendant to stand trial charged with murder in the death of a Modesto man found buried in a shallow grave.

Mario Amado Beltran, 30, is accused of murder in the shooting death of Ricky Cadruvi.

Beltran remains in custody at the Stanislaus County Jail. He is scheduled to return to court June 22 for an arraignment hearing.

Cadruvi, 58, was reported missing Christmas Day 2013. A few weeks later, authorities found Cadruvi’s body buried near Beltran’s rural home on Broyles Road, just north of Paradise Road and west of Modesto.
