It should be robbery rule No. 1: If you bring a mask, might as well wear it
Police are looking for a suspect caught on video camera at a northwest convenience store robbed Sunday.
The crime was committed about 9:30 p.m. at the Arco am/pm minimarket at Standiford Avenue and Prescott Road, Modesto Police Department Lt. Chris Adams said Thursday. It was a strong-arm robbery, meaning no weapon was used, and the robber escaped with store merchandise, not money. No one was injured in the robbery, Adams said.
The man accused of committing the robbery clearly has no qualms about also violating the county face-covering order imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic. He appears to have a face covering around his neck, though, and wearing it would have been in his best interest by helping conceal his identity.
Anyone with information on the robbery is urged to contact Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tips also can be submitted via www.stancrimetips.org.
