Modesto man accused of exposing himself to woman in Sisk Road parking lot
Modesto Police on Tuesday arrested a man they say exposed himself to a woman in the Mattress Firm parking lot on Sisk Road, one of several similar crimes over the past two weeks.
The incident at Mattress Firm, south of Pelandale Avenue, occurred on Sunday when the 27-year-old victim stopped to purchase cupcakes at a food truck in the parking lot, according to Modesto Police.
She returned to her vehicle and was sitting inside when she noticed the suspect standing outside a white Infiniti SUV parked next to hers.
“The male was inappropriately touching himself and staring at the female while doing so,” according to a press release. “The male then reached for the female’s vehicle door.”
The victim’s doors were locked, said Modesto Police Sgt. Kalani Souza. At that time she took a photo of the suspect and the license plate on his Infiniti then drove away and called police.
The Modesto Police Department Special Victim’s Unit began investigating the incident and identified the suspect as 48-year-old Michael Fireman.
Fireman was arrested at his Modesto home on Tuesday on suspicion of indecent exposure.
Detectives continue to investigate other indecent exposures over the past two weeks, at least one involving a man of similar description and a similar vehicle, Souza said.
Anyone with information pertaining to this or similar cases, the suspect, or his vehicle is encouraged to contact Detective Jeremy Davis at 209-343-9173.
