Ceres man arrested in three-vehicle crash that killed woman in November
Ceres Police arrested a man on Thursday who allegedly was under the influence of alcohol when he caused a three-vehicle collision that killed a woman and injured two other people in November.
Jose Luis Valdez-Villasenor, 24, of Ceres was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injury.
At about 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 Valdez-Villasenor was driving a black Honda east on Hatch Road when he collided with the vehicle in front of him, a gray Mazda driven by Araceli Pimentel, 42, of Ceres.
The impact sent both vehicles into the westbound lanes, between Mitchell and Moffett roads, where the Mazda was hit by a Ford Ranger pickup.
Pimentel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Valdez-Villasenor had major injuries and the driver and passenger in the Ford were also injured.
