A man arrived at the Patterson Police Services station Saturday evening and informed officials there he’d been shot, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.

The victim was shot at Las Palmas Avenue and Ninth Street around 5 p.m., according to Lt. Josh Clayton. The victim was standing outside talking to someone in a car when an unknown person drove by and fired rounds at him, Clayton said.

He said the victim was hit once in the leg. He got into the car he was standing next to and was driven to the police services station.

He said deputies on scene applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg while awaiting an ambulance, which took him to an area hospital.

Clayton did not have any more information Saturday on the victim or the incident.
