Man shot in southeast Modesto dies from wound, police report
A 39-year-old man died at a hospital shortly after being shot Wednesday night in southeast Modesto, police reported.
Officers were dispatched about 7:30 p.m. to reports of a person shot on the 2400 block of Glendale Avenue, northeast of El Vista Avenue and Yosemite Boulevard.
The man was found suffering a gunshot wound and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. No other people are known to have been shot, Modesto Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said.
Detectives with the MPD Investigations Division responded and took over the case.
Other than his age, no identifying information on the victim was released. No information on the circumstances of the shooting was released, including any possible suspect description or identification.
