Modesto police investigating alleged sexual contact with child at popular business
The Modesto Police Department posted on its Facebook page Sunday afternoon that it’s aware of allegations made against an employee of the John’s Incredible Pizza location on Plaza Parkway that have gone viral on social media.
“Our department is following up on the incident reported and will complete a thorough investigation. We have no further information available at this time,” the post says.
A Facebook user’s post Saturday afternoon says the incident occurred earlier in the day during a birthday celebration. The woman wrote that a male employee working in the business’s laser tag area took his pants down, grabbed an 11-year-old girl from behind and “took her ... hand to touch his private area.”
She said the employee denied doing so, and it’s a “he said she said” because there are no cameras in the area. A call by The Bee to the John’s Incredible in Modesto was answered by an automated system that led to a corporate call center. The woman who picked up said no response could be made until Monday.
The Facebook post making the allegation was shared at least 10,000 times and got at least 2,400 comments. It was being talked about on groups including Stanislaus News and the Patterson Neighborhood Watch Uncensored.
In the Stanislaus News group, MPD Chief Galen Carroll, using his personal Facebook account, commented prior to his department’s post, “MPD did respond to an incident at Johns Incredible Pizza involving a child. A report was taken and detectives will follow up on the report.”
