Two sought in shooting at Patterson Skate Park that wounds one victim

Two people are sought in a shooting at the Patterson Skate Park on Sunday night in which one person was hit.

The shooting occurred about 7 p.m. at the park, at West Las Palmas and Ward avenues. The two attackers, both male and wearing ski masks, “asked for a Jose” before one of them “started shooting at this guy,” Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Joshua Clayton said in a text Monday morning.

Multiple rounds from a 9mm handgun were fired. The male victim was struck in his lower left leg, Clayton said, and the injuries were not life-threatening.

The attackers fled in a white, two-door Honda, the lieutenant said.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about it is urged to call Patterson Police Services at 209-892-5071 or Stanislaus Area Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Tips also can be submitted via www.stancrimetips.org.
