Sonora police search for ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect in Walmart robbery
Sonora police asked the public’s help in finding the suspect in an armed robbery at Walmart early Friday.
Former Walmart employee JoeMichael Savaii, 26, of Sonora displayed a firearm to a manager and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the money-counting area, police said.
It happened at about 2 a.m. at the Sanguinetti Road store, about a mile southeast of downtown, a news release from the Sonora Police Department said. No injuries were reported.
The suspect fled in a white, four-door sedan with no front license plate and an unknown license number on the back, police said. He is considered “armed and dangerous,” the release said. Anyone who spots him should call 911 rather than approach him.
