West Modesto homicide victim identified

The man killed in a shooting in west Modesto on Friday afternoon has been identified as 19-year-old Modesto man.

Andrew Sok was one of four people shot outside a home in the 1900 block of Vernon Avenue, south of Robertson Road.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department has not released many details about the shooting including whether a motive has been determined or if any suspects have been identified.

Sok, another man and a woman were transported from the scene by ambulances to Modesto hospitals.

A fourth victim got himself to the hospital, according to the sheriff’s department.

The other three victims are expected to survive their injuries.
