Five people shot in Ceres after bar fight in Modesto

Five people were shot in front of a home in Ceres early Sunday morning after they returned from a bar in Modesto where they’d been in an altercation with other patrons.

The shooting occurred just before 3 a.m. in the 800 block of Allacante Drive, southwest of Whitmore Avenue and Morgan Road, according to a press release from Ceres Police.

“Officers arrived to find a chaotic scene, with several intoxicated subjects,” according to the release. “Officers located a total of five victims suffering from gunshot wounds to their extremities.”

Firefighters and paramedics arrived shortly after and all of the victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Investigators learned that the victims had been at a bar in Modesto where they’d been involved in an altercation with other people.

Investigators did not know which bar the victims had been to or what precipitated the argument.

The victims left the bar and had been at the Ceres home, hanging out in the driveway, for about 45 minutes when the shooting occurred, according to Ceres Police.

At least two males wearing all dark clothing and ski masks walked up to the home and fired multiple shots from across the street.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Matt Berlier at 209-538-5616.
