Modesto Home Depot Employee stabbed in robbery
A Home Depot employee was stabbed in the shoulder Monday afternoon when he tried to stop two men from stealing power tools, according to Modesto Police.
The men went to the Home Depot on North Carpenter Road at about 12:30 p.m. and took two DeWalt power tool kits priced at $150 each, said Modesto Police spokeswoman Heather Graves.
As the men walked toward the store’s exit, an employee asked if they had a receipt. Grave said one of the men pulled an unknown sharp object from his pocket and stabbed the employee in the shoulder.
The employee suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken by a co-worker to a local hospital.
The suspects are described as two black men in their 40s who fled in a light-colored four-door sedan.
