Stanislaus Sheriff investigating homicide; man’s body found near Patterson

Authorities are investigating the death of a man found off the Diablo Grande Parkway near Patterson Friday afternoon as a homicide.

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called at approximately 2:56 p.m. to a report of the body of an adult male located off the parkway near the Interstate 5 junction, about a mile east of Patterson. Stanislaus Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Josh Clayton said the Crimes Against Persons Team was called out to investigate.

“(We) are treating the investigation as a homicide at this point pending further information,” Clayton said.
