Modesto man gets 4-year prison sentence for DUI conviction
A Modesto man, Philip Haro, has been sentenced to four years in state prison after being convicted of felony driving under the influence, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
On Dec. 23, 2013, Haro was pulled over at 3:57 a.m. for driving too slowly and because he was reported as sleeping in his truck at the pumps of a Modesto gas station moments earlier.
He performed field sobriety tests consistent with someone who was under the influence and gave two breath tests that recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent.
Haro’s offense was a felony because of a prior felony conviction for driving under the influence, and his sentence, handed down May 29, was enhanced because he’d previously been commited to a state prison, the District Attorney’s Office reported.
