Man’s body is found in Murphys Creek, Calaveras sheriff’s office reports
The body of a man was found Tuesday in Murphys Creek, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reported.
It got a 911 call at about 11 a.m. from someone reporting the body near the 800 block of Main Street in downtown Murphys, a Facebook post said. The name of the deceased man, who appeared to be about 40, was withheld pending notification of his family.
“No further information is being released at this time and the case is being actively investigated,” the post said.
Murphys Grade Road was temporarily closed as officers worked the scene.
