Driver arrested after he drives onto Ceres lawn, hits boat
A man was arrested after he lost control of his car and it crashed into a boat on the front lawn of a home on Second Street in Ceres.
The force of the crash, which occurred at about 2:45 p.m., sent the boat on top of a motorcycle.
The driver of the sedan, Gurvinder Singh, 26,, escaped injury. However, he was arrested at the scene after witnesses saw him drop something into a garbage can on the property, according to Sgt. Patrick Sullivan of the Ceres Police Department.
He said when police retrieved the items from the trash can, they appeared to be “illegal narcotics.”
He was booked into Stanislaus County Jail on narcotics and driving under the influence charges
Nobody was home at the time. The man who lived there arrived a few minutes later to see the destruction.
He said he usually takes his motorcycle to work, but was running late. He had hoped to take his boat out next weekend.
“I was kind of pissed at first,” he said as he came onto the scene. “But, nobody got hurt. (The boat and motorcycle) are replaceable.”
