Police arrested a man suspected of robbing the Red Lobster restaurant in Modesto on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect, Michael Fitzjarrell, 51, used a replica firearm in demanding money from the Sisk Road business just before 3 p.m., Lt. T. J. Moffett of the Modesto Police Department said.

Fitzjarrell fled on foot and was captured soon afterward in the area, Moffett said. Police recovered the cash but did not disclose the amount.

Fitzjarrell was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on an armed robbery charge and remained there on $100,000 bail as of Wednesday afternoon. His city of residence was not available.
