Sheriff’s office names suspect in killing of Lodi woman found on roadside near Oakdale
Detectives named a suspect Tuesday night in the killing of a Lodi woman whose body was found north of Oakdale early Monday.
Jose Manuel Gonzalez Silva, 30, of Stockton is accused of killing Beranea Moreno, 25. The two had been in an “intimate relationship,” a news release from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said.
Someone reported finding Moreno’s body in her car on the shoulder of Milton Road near Highway 4, which is in the Woodward Reservoir area, at about 2 a.m. Monday.
The Sheriff’s Department said an autopsy determined that she was a homicide victim, but detectives did not disclose how she died.
A Gofundme page has been established in the victim’s name.
A warrant has been issued for Silva’s arrest. He is believed to be driving a lowered, dark blue, GMC Yukon with black rims, possibly 22 inches. The license plate number is still unknown.
People with information on Silva can contact Detective Cory Brown at 209-567-4485. Anonymous tips can be left at Crime Stoppers, 209-521-4636 or www.modestopolice.com/CrimeStoppers.
