Ceres police seek man in stabbing of juvenile during argument
A 24-year-old Ceres man is being sought in a stabbing Monday afternoon in the area of Darrah Street and Lois Way. Gonzalo Chavez Jimenez is wanted on one count of assault with a deadly weapon, police said in a Facebook post Tuesday morning.
He and the 17-year-old male victim were arguing on the 1900 block of Darrah when at some point Jimenez stabbed the minor and fled, police said.
Sgt. Jason Coley said the victim was walking down the street away from the crime scene as officers were arriving.
Officers treated the victim until medical professionals arrived. His wound was not life-threatening, and he was treated and released from a hospital, police said.
