Two people suffered injuries in an apparent drive-by shooting in northeast Modesto on Friday night, according to the Modesto Police Department.

The victims – a man and a woman – drove themselves to a nearby hospital and their arrival is what alerted police to the shooting. They were in stable condition, according to Lt. Ivan Valencia.

The incident, which occurred at about 7:30 p.m., apparently took place near the intersection of Keller Street and Falmouth Way, a few blocks north of Floyd Avenue.

Police do not have a suspect and would not release the description of the vehicle because there were conflicting reports on its description.

The victims were in a vehicle at the time of the shooting, Valencia said. Officers on scene were marking the spots where shell-casings were found.

We’ll have more on this story as information becomes available.
