Probation search turns up stolen goods; Hughson man sought
A Hughson man is being sought after Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputies discovered more than $5,000 worth of stolen goods in his home during a probation search Thursday night.
At Arnold Darrell’s residence in the 2000 block of Fourth Street, deputies found a variety of items determined to have been stolen from a storage unit, said Sgt. Jon McQueary. The items – their value estimated at $5,200 – apparently were from a former Ace Hardware store in Hughson that closed; some of the inventory was put in storage.
The owner of Hughson Farm Supply, which now serves as the Ace outlet in Hughson, said the previous store closed about five years ago.
Darrell, 36, is on post-release supervision and was not at his residence at the time of the search. He’s now being sought and faces charges of burglary and possession of stolen property, McQueary said.
He is described at white, 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and multiple tattoos.
