2 arrested in killing of Riverbank man

San Joaquin and Stanislaus sheriff’s detectives on Thursday night arrested two men in connection with the killing of a Riverbank man.

The body of Edward William Magana, 47, was found in an irrigation canal at South Henry and River roads in Escalon on Sunday morning.

Joseph Michael Denner, 28, and Donald Roradaugh, 32, both of Riverbank, were arrested on suspicion of homicide and booked into the San Joaquin County jail.

Deputy Les Garcia, public information officer with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, said detectives were working on the case late into Thursday night.

“Investigators are currently working on putting the pieces together as to where the homicide took place and motive,” he said Friday morning. “The official cause of death is pending toxicology results, which may take up to four to six weeks.”
