Turlock police release name of shooting victim

Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a shooting on Monday night.

Turlock Police said the victim of the shooting has been identified as 38-year-old Oscar Peralta of Turlock.

Peralta died after being shot shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, police said Tuesday.

Police responded to Starr and North Denair avenues after receiving multiple calls of a shooting, Officer Mayra Lewis said.

Investigators have been working non-stop in an attempt to determine what took place before and after the shooting and are asking that anyone who may have information regarding the shooting contact Detective Frank Navarro at (209) 668-5550 ext 6619.

The Turlock Police Department participates in the Crime Stoppers program. Callers can leave an anonymous tip by calling Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636 and are eligible for a cash reward.
