Suspect arrested in Lathrop homicide

San Joaquin County sheriff’s detectives arrested the suspect wanted in the shooting death of a Lathrop man on Saturday.

Reginald Holland, 58, was taken into custody without incident Wednesday for his suspected involvement in the death of Geroge Sloggett, 52, of Lathrop.

At about 1:40 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office received a call of a shooting in the 200 block of Shadywood Drive in Lathrop. When deputies arrived, they found Sloggett suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

Holland was later identified as the suspect, and was considered armed and dangerous.
