Man dies after fight in south Modesto
A man died Friday afternoon following a physical fight with another man at a home in south Modesto.
The man died of a medical condition and it appears he was the one who provoked the fight in the 700 block of Watson Avenue, said Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Parker.
Deputies were dispatched to the home at about 3 p.m. but before they arrived the fight ended and moments later the man collapsed.
The man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His cause of death is pending an autopsy but Parker said he did not have any injuries from the fight.
The other man, however, was punched several times and was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.
No one was arrested as the man who died is believed to have been the primary aggressor.
