Man critical after being shot on Modesto’s College Avenue
A brazen drive-by shooting on Modesto’s College Avenue sent a man to the hospital Thursday evening.
Modesto Police Sgt. Patrick Kimes said the victim was traveling south on College just north of Orangeburg Avenue at about 7 p.m. when someone inside a red Nissan pulled up alongside him and fired, striking him at least once.
Witnesses reported seeing two Latino men in the Nissan, which is described as a newer model. The victim was listed in critical but stable condition.
College was closed between Orangeburg and Pearl Street while officers investigated the shooting.
