Hearing rescheduled for Modesto dog groomer accused of embezzlement

A judge on Monday rescheduled a preliminary hearing to start July 10 for a Modesto dog groomer accused of embezzlement and seven other felony charges.

Tiffany Seymour was arrested a year ago. Modesto police have said Seymour is accused of writing fraudulent checks totaling more than $14,000 from a former employer, Alani’s Paw Spa on Floyd Avenue in Modesto.

The defendant’s charges also include grand theft, forgery and identity theft to obtain credit.

At the conclusion of her preliminary hearing, the judge will determine whether there is enough evidence for Seymour to stand trial. The hearing is expected to last a few hours. The defendant remains free on bail.
