Stanislaus County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a gunshot victim found at Kansas Avenue and North Franklin Street in central Modesto.

When deputies arrived at the scene on Friday night at 7:30, CHP and emergency medical personnel were already there. The victim, 24-year-old Xiong Vang from Merced, was taken to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
