Parole denied for Modesto man who stabbed girlfriend
A Modesto man convicted of stabbing his girlfriend has been denied parole, the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office announced this week.
Robert Aron Williams severely injured his girlfriend in November 13, 1996 attack. Prosecutors said Williams stabbed the woman on her head and neck and knocked out several of her teeth, before trying to throw her in a trash bin. They also said he had a long history of violence against women.
Williams was found unsuitable for parole at a March 27 hearing at the California Institute for Men in Chino. Deputy District Attorney John R. Mayne appeared at the hearing and argued for continued confinement based on the severity of the crime and the likelihood of continued dangerous behavior.
He was convicted of attempted murder with premeditation, robbery, mayhem and spousal battery. Williams is serving a sentence of 18 years to life in prison. He will not be eligible for parole for another three years.
