Campus monitor arrested on suspicion of bringing gun onto Oakdale campus
A campus monitor for the Stanislaus County Office of Education was arrested Wednesday for allegedly bringing a gun to its school in Oakdale.
Office of education staff called Oakdale police Wednesday with information that the campus monitor might be carrying a firearm at the Stanislaus Culinary Art Institute/Oakdale Community School on Wakefield Drive off Yosemite Avenue.
Officers made contact with the employee and found him in possession of a loaded magazine, said Oakdale Sgt. Ben Savage.
They searched his car and found another loaded magazine, as well as a pistol.
James Logan, 42, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in a school zone and possessing ammunition in a school zone.
